Student of the Week

 This week's Student of the Week is Maya H (I'm using this photo until I get sent a better one).  OPDATE: Got a better on!! Thanks MH!!

Sadly, Maya is another grade 8 student who is leaving KG after the school year ends. And I will really, really miss her. She is a real character. Funny, kind and interesting. Some things I will always remember about Maya:

1. She loves Ariana Grande. Like REALLY, REALLY loves Ariana Grande. If you want to know any Ariana-trivia (born in Florida, has a "hair contract", 5 feet tall, etc), Maya is the person to talk to. In fact, I promised Maya that I'd include an Ariana Grande song in this write-up, so here you go MH. I wonder if you've heard this one before (hahaha).

2. But she also has a lot of love for other performers. Like Sean Mendez (whoever that is). When we went to We Day one of the highlights was seeing Maya cry (on two different occasions!) while Mr Mendez performed. Quite amusing. Here's a photo of the "dreamy" fellow.

3. Maya also loves inanimate objects. Take Fiji Water for example. Maya buys (and drinks) this stuff by the caseload. She even inspired Simon to wear a Fiji Water wrapper on his head (on several occasions).

4. Maya has a beautiful voice. As many of you may have seen, Maya performed at the KG Talent Show and captured third place when she sang - surprise!- an Ariana Grande song. Mr. Wang told me months ago that "many of the grade 8's are fantastic singers" and he named Maya in particular. Maybe one day I will be crying (with pride, of course) at one of YOUR concerts, Maya.

It was so much fun teaching you, Maya. Thanks for all the hard work, all the laughs and all the blueberries! You are generous. You are special. You are wonderful!
