This teacher is worse than Joffrey Baratheon.
A math teacher is replacing detention with something a little more dire — writing Game of Thrones spoilers on the board. On the French site DansTonChat, a student shared that his teacher, who already read George R.R. Martin's books, threatened to spoil deaths that haven't yet played out on the HBO show if the class failed to quiet down. Unsurprisingly, the teacher saw immediate results. When the skeptical pupils tested his nerve, he promptly wrote out all the names of the characters who perished in Season 3. Any students who hadn't seen the Red Wedding yet were undoubtedly traumatized. How on earth could a state's favourite artist be Matchbox Twenty? Young Jeezy?! Fall Out Boy?!?!? Blake Shelton??? And remind me NEVER to visit the state of Wisconson!!! There is no excuse for THEIR choice!
Contest #1 (easy): I count four Canadian bands on here. Can you name them all? Contest #2 (hard): there are only five states that like bands I included in my videos. Name them all! Hint: they are all east of Texas Someone actually sent me a correct answer! Amazing! But they won't say who it is!! Any ideas? Here's what I was sent... "metric neil young tegan and sara rush Rhode Island, nirvana, foundations and pre-cal, 1.4 (part 2 of 2) Massachusetts, neil young, foundations and pre-cal, 1.2 Maine, R.E.M, foundations and pre-cal, 8.4 New Jersey, bruce springsteen, pre-cal 11, 8.5 Illinois - sufjan stevens, foundations and pre-cal, 6.2 -he who shall never be named." Scary signature. Lord Voldemort, I assume? Three challenges for you...
Hints:
This week's Student of the Week is Adam T.
I have taught Adam for a good many years now. He's always been a fairly quiet guy; doesn't attract a lot of attention to himself. So much so, in fact, that I honestly can't remember whether I have taught Adam the past three or four years (sorry Adam). For the most part, Adam has worked hard in my class. That hasn't been true EVERY year however. It cracked me up when Adam told me, early in his grade 12 year: "Oh, Mr. Wadge, grade 11 never happened". Happily, grade 12 IS happening and is happening successfully. Nice job, AT!! This story demonstrates a common trait of Adam. He doesn't say much but when he DOES talk he often has something amusing to say. He seems to always be up-to-date on the various jokes, stories and (good-natured) insults that make their rounds throughout KG. Thus, he is a valuable resource to me (to stay "in the loop"). I have enjoyed seeing Adam's participation in Moe's and Bijan's various movie projects. This guy is a good actor. He really commits to his role and is very believable. Mind you - since the only movies Moe and Bijan make are mob movies - I have only seen Adam in a very narrow range of characters. I'm hoping for a romantic comedy for their next effort. Adam could be the sensitive boyfriend. I'm really proud of you for working so hard this year, Adam. Keep it up! I hope your grade 12 year ends well and I wish you good luck in the future! |
