In the two years that Boris has been in my class, he has always been a quiet, unassuming guy. He doesn't draw a lot of attention to himself, he is soft-spoken, kind of sleepy even. So it was a complete shock to me when I saw him on the basketball court for the first time. The guy is a beast!
I was (and am) so impressed with Boris' drive, toughness, and skill on the court. During the recent Provincial tournament. the Livestream announcers referred to Boris over and over as "The Big Man" and that is exactly how he plays basketball.
Speaking of basketball, I am amazed by Boris' (and the other boys on the team) ability to invest hundreds (thousands?) of hours into their team while still maintaining good marks (particularly in a tough course like Calculus). it is a testament to Boris' organization ability, determination, and smarts.
Boris has always been a very polite, fair, and appreciative student in my class. He is very "low-maintenance". I can kind of leave him be, knowing he will do what it takes (including coming to see me if necessary) to learn the material and that he will perform well on tests.
Thanks, Boris, for your laid-back, gentle nature (OFF the court) and your hard work that allows you to be so successful both academically and athletically. You are a very easy student to teach and an easy person to like. Good luck!
