I guess the first word that comes to mind when you describe Melissa is "quiet". But that is not always the case! Though it is true that, in class, Melissa is one of the more reserved students that I teach, I have witnessed her OUTSIDE of class time - when she is surrounded by her friends - and she is quite boisterous! Razzing her friends, making jokes, acting silly. I love it!
What I also love is Melissa's work ethic. She is one of the most determined students that I teach. Some people find it easy to work hard when they understand what's going on but struggle to stay motivated when things are tough. Melissa is quite the opposite: when she is finding things difficult (as we all do at times) she works even harder than before. It is for this reason that I know Melissa will be successful in the future. I've made no secret of my belief that hard work is the secret to achieving everything you want in life... and Melissa has that quality in spades!
Thanks, Melissa, for being such a kind and gentle soul. It has been a pleasure to teach you and I admire you for your poise and your self-motivation. All the best to you, M.L.!!
