As hard as it is to believe, when Aya first showed up to my PreCalculus 11 class (the first time I ever taught her) she was pretty clear that she was only an "ok" Math student. Rubbish! She proceeded to ace pretty much every test she wrote in my class. Plus, I understand her mastery has continued this year in Mr. Yee's class. So impressive! Her only weakness: those darn Problem Sets (sorry AK!).
One thing I love about Aya is her jovial and enthusiastic spirit. She always seems pleased to see me, even on days when I'm feeling a little bit blah. What a nice lift to see her bright smile and kind words! So appreciated!
Aya has made my life easier in so many ways over the past few years. This year she has been a Peer Tutor in one of my PreCalculus 11 class (lucky students). Plus, she has done her fair share of CS work in the same class (even though she never sighed up for THAT). And she has stepped in last minute so many times to do scorekeeping when I was unable to find anyone else. What a lifesaver!
I know your post-KG plan involves nursing, Aya. You have the perfect disposition for it; hard-working, smart, caring, and responsible. I wish you lots of luck but I already KNOW that you will be successful. All the best to you. I will miss you!
