While out walking Simone (in her boring stroller) this guy came rolling by. YES, that is a baby on his back! And there are two MORE kids on bikes about half a block behind him (on a busy street, I might add. But I shouldn't judge other people's parenting styles / techniques). Anyway, pretty hip dad, I'd say. Poor Simone got stuck with a math-nerd.
I'd prefer a new album from Fleet Foxes!! Congrats to Jamie, who had the highest mark on the first math contest of the year. Check out the amazing shirt / prize he won!!! I know we are ALL very jealous!!
I've seriously watched this about 50 times. The woman is so cute... such a good sport (and you gotta admire her commitment to dye her eyebrows like that)! And the smile on that guy!! Come on!! That's the best smile EVER!!! I want to be friends with this guy! He's Mr. Charisma!! Plus, throw in a catchy Usher tune... this video is pure gold. This week's Student of the Week is Chad B (send a photo please!)
I first taught Chad in grade 8. He was a funny guy back then. He was a mixture of very quiet (for the most part) with the occasional talkative spells (that tended to take me by surprise). I remember one time (I am sure Chad does not remember this) when I was in my classroom after school. There was nobody else there. Suddenly Chad burst into the room and - without even a hello - broke into a conversation much like the following (I can't remember the actual topic): Chad: Albie does it every time. Me: Huh? What? Chad: It was Albie. He said that he could try it and he did. Me: I'm not sure what you are talking about, Chad. Chad: Yeah. It was like that. Me: ???? Chad: Okay bye. I think I sat there for about ten minutes wondering "What just happened here?". Care to explain Chad? Now I get to teach Chad again (in his grade 12 year). He's still the mostly-quiet, sometimes-talkative guy. But I always understand what he is talking about now! In fact, Chad is a very well-expressed guy. And he is also a very NICE guy. Chad is always very thankful for any help I provide. He always speaks very enthusiastically about what we are discussing. He is curious and thoughtful. I really enjoy talking with him. You are doing a great job in Math this year, Chad! Keep up the great work. I hope your last year is a good one. It's hard to believe you have been at KG for five years already! All the best to you! |
