This guy is hilarious. Plus, he obviously respects Algebra. And you will not see ANY of the riders doing stuff like this!! Check out 2:05 and 3:20, if nothing else... I'm the one with (mercifully) a shirt on. And appropriate footwear! This was such a fun day! Love all these people! That's right! No Student of the Week this week. Instead, it's the first-ever TEACHER of the week. And, not surprisingly (but rather sadly), it's Mr. Scrimshaw!
First of all, I LOVE this picture of Scrimshaw. It's from today's staff baseball game (see below). Look at that smile! This is why we all love Scrimmy. The man is always ready for a laugh, always playing full out (and sometimes wearing funky hats). Mr. Scrimshaw and I have had our disagreements in my 7 years at King George. We've had a few (not many) "contentious" discussions about what should be done for / about certain students. But there are two wonderful things that I can honestly say about this:
Some of my favourite memories of Mr Scrimshaw:
I really admire you for the courage it must have taken to decide to "walk-away" for (at least) a year, Steve. I know that you are going to have incredible experiences with your mom and your partner. I know that you will see wonderful things in your travels. I know that you will accomplish many great things (specifically on your cabin and boat) that you will treasure for many years to come. But I also know that you will be missed by many, MANY people next year. You have made a big difference in the lives of many students and I know that they are sad to see you go. And I am too... All the best Mr. Scrimshaw! Best Pitcher: Karmali (he pitched for both teams)
Best Hitter (female): Groombridge (honourable mention to Grey) Best Hitter (male): O'Gorman (two home-runs!!) Best Fielder (female): Kam (so good I spontaneously hugged her after one play) Best Fielder (male): Breden (was on the other team so I did not hug him) Most Competitive (tie): Breden and Modder (very intense!) MVP: Birks (for coming up with the idea in the first place) Best BBQer: Wiebe (hotdogs for everyone!) Biggest Eater (like always at KG staff events): Wadge Wow! Ms. Ansari is one of Canada's Top 25 Immigrants for 2015! What an honour. Be sure to read the link below. I love what she says about her collage! That's a powerful way to stay focused and motivated! Try it for something YOU really want to achieve!
Karen made this for me this week and everybody who tried it agreed... DELICIOUS!! And don't you find that Karen is incredibly photogenic?!? Sadly, Jordan got OVERexcited and sprayed it all over my face. Ugh!
