Ashamed to admit that I watched a few hours of this on TV. I can't help it. All the combinations. All the probabilities. It's mesmerizing!!

Remember the INSANE rain on Saturday morning. Well, while you were cuddled in your bed sleeping or watching Netflix videos or something, three courageous King George students were out in that mess, competing in the Provincial Cross-Country Running Meet at (a VERY soggy / mucky) Jericho Park. A HUGE congratulations to Sophie V at her final Provincials (I'll miss you next year Sophie!!) Awesome job Tavares! Check out the muck all over his pants. And that's not a lake behind him. That's the terrain they had to run over / through. "Way to go" to Elias P as well. However, I have no photo. I think he ran straight through the finish line and directly to his (warm, dry) car. Never saw him after the race!!
Nice serving Natalie! Great posture Lokton! And Blanca always cracks me up. Most flamboyant lines-person of all time!
This week's Student of the Week is Stephan D (photo! photo! photo!)
I remember when I first taught Stephan in grade 10 and there were a couple of (how do I put this?) "rough" days. I went to Stephan and said "listen, you need to learn when it's appropriate to be a smart-aleck and when it's not" (I know. I know. Pretty rich, coming from an overly-sarcastic person like myself. But still... it needed to be said). And Stephan responded - DRIPPING WITH SARCASM!! - "Oh I'll be sure to do that. I certainly will". Me (getting angry): You're doing it right now. Stop that! Stephan (sarcastically): Oh, I'll be sure to stop then. Me (ANGRY): THAT'S ENOUGH!! [rant rant rant blah blah blah etc etc] It's pretty funny now but at the time I was pretty incredulous ("how DARE he?"). And it got me concerned about this Stephan D character ("seems like trouble"). That was over two years ago and I don't think I've ever had to say another word (discipline-wise) to Stephan since! Guess he got it all out of his system in the first week! Funny! A few other things I'll always remember about Stephan:
It's not easy but you can do it!! (Hint: draw a bunch of triangles IN the coins)
