Students who took the recent Math 136 exam at the University of Waterloo will not have to rewrite it after it was revealed parts of the exam had been leaked to a third-party tutoring company and shown to students.
"These questions were not ever meant to have been in anybody's possession other than the instructor's, so somehow the questions got leaked," the Waterloo, Ont. university's associate vice-president, academic, Mario Coniglio said. And who knew that Michael Jordan was a "surprisingly strong math student". So what does Professor Ono think of seventy-three? “I really like the number seventy-three,” he said. “It is the sixth ‘emirp.’ ” An emirp, he explained, is a prime number that remains prime when its digits are reversed. (Emirp, of course, is “prime” spelled backward.) “Seventy-three and thirty-seven are both prime, so both are emirps.” As for the other properties: “It is the twenty-first prime number. Its mirror, thirty-seven, is the twelfth. And its mirror, twenty-one, is the product of multiplying—hang onto your hats—seven and three.” He goes on to add, “In binary, seventy-three is a palindrome: 1001001.”
Place the numbers from 1 to 16 in the grid below so that they obey the horizontal and vertical equations. Lucky you... "1" has already been placed!!
