This is Infinite Jest. It WAS going to be the new school bookclub book. But then we realized a few things:
But... it's also considered one of the greatest novels of the past 100 years.
I want to read this thing but I know I can't do it alone. So I am challenging dedicated, patient readers to join me in the quest to read Infinite Jest before the end of the school year.
So far I know that a few people are taking on this momentous undertaking:

Anyone else brave (crazy?) enough? Add your name in the Comments below. Maybe we can meet briefly every few weeks and try to figure out what the heck is going on. I'm on page 50 and confused already!!
- it's long. Like 1079 pages long.
- It's complex. There's over 100 pages of footnotes. Some of the footnotes have footnotes, for goodness sakes.
- It's hard to read. The timing is all mixed up, lots of it is satirical, sentences go on and on (and on) frequently. Etc.
