I remember when Laís first arrived at our school (grade 10, I believe). It was a stressful time for me. I really struggled to pronounce her name just right (Laís always looked so dismayed). In fact, I still worry that I'm not saying it correctly. That's why I watch this video every morning before I come to school...
Last year I was so disappointed when Laís switched to City School. I mean, I understand why she chose to switch, but couldn't she have at least considered my preferences? :)
One of my favourite days last year was Laís' birthday. I bought her a cupcake and took it down to City School (always weird to venture in there). I hadn't seen her in quite a while and she was SOOO appreciative and excited. So many people are kind of underwhelming when you do something nice for them ("Oh.... Cool.... Thanks"). Laís was NOT like that and it made me so happy!
What also made me happy was when Laís returned to my class this year! YAHOO! Always pleased to have interesting, hard-working, friendly people in my class. And that's Laís!
Laís seems like she is about 23 years old already. I mean that in a (very) good way. She is so composed. So self-assured. So stylish (love the short hair!). It seems like she should be working as an advertisement executive or branch manager already!
Thanks for being such a special person to teach, Laís. You have always been so kind to me, so honest and trusting, so fun to spend time with. MUITO OBRIGADO! I wish you all the best in the years ahead. Love you!
